Empty Bowls at YAM Show

March 7th AENJ South held the first Empty Bowls event. It took place during the YAM show held this year at Appel Farm in Elmer NJ. Students who attended the YAM show participated in activities such as painting bisque ware and making bowls from clay slabs. Thanks to Janice Chassier and Diane Driessen for providing the bisque bowls, and to Skeff Thomas for donating the clay. Everyone who participated was really excited about the project and is eager to attend the event which will be held on March 18th 2011.

Empty Bowl at YAM Show

AENJSouth is happy to announce our first Empty Bowl event. The event will coincide with the annual Youth Art Month show for students in Gloucester, Salem and Cumberland County, held at Appel Farm in Elmer NJ. Students and teachers who attend the show on Sunday March 7th, from 12:00 to 3:00, will be able able to create or decorate a clay bowl that will be sold at the Empty Bowl dinner to take place next year. Keep checking here for the date for the dinner event!

Teachers in other counties can contribute to Empty Bowls by creating bowls with their students and donating them to AENJSouth for sale next year. Teachers are also welcome to create a special bowl for auction as well. All money raised will benefit local South Jersey food banks.
